  eWorld: Apple's Overpriced, Poorly Marketed Online Service
AppleLink was considered a huge success, and Apple decided they should start another service aimed to reduce customer support expenses.
The GEIS-operated AppleLink service was in heavy use by approximately 14,000 Apple employees and contractors, as well as 20,000 dealers and developers from around the world.
AppleLink was still too expensive for Apple, so Peter Friedman was hired to reduce costs.

AppleLink translated the user's GUI actions into a transaction protocol that was sent into a server program running on the mainframe.
The AppleLink service was finally shut down at the end of March 1997.

The group bought the AppleLink software from AOL and developed into what would be known as eWorld.
The group also struck a deal with AOL to help develop the service and spent 1993 working on the new software and various services to be offered.
The eWorld service was a combination of the vast technical and support archives of the previous AppleLink services and a more traditional community service like AOL and CompuServe.

I use AppleLink to distribute these messages because it's the only scriptable Internet-onramp that I have on my hard disk.

Quantum's marketing director was no patsy and she worked out the agreement with Apple that if they pulled the plug on the new service, Quantum got to keep the technology they developed.
Also the company, for no additional fee, could include a demo disk of their software with the mailing and often offered a discount to members of the user groups.

Since a CD based on an online service rapidly becomes obsolete, I find the CD a tad pricey at $299 per year (or $649 for multiple users), though AppleLink itself is a bit expensive as well.
The CD includes the technical information library as well as product data, public articles, bulletin board conferences, and documentation for solutions to hardware and software problems.

Quick perusal of AppleLink bulletin boards suggested to me that the Debugging area in 'Developer Talk' would be the most useful place to post my request.
For Prolog, it is certainly possible to show a nice visual coarse-grained view of the execution space (with suitable 'compressions' and 'abstractions' for very large spaces), and allow the user to home in quickly on the trouble spot via a variety of fine-grained views.
