		Around the globe this month, Cyclone Hudah was downgraded from a cyclone to a tropical storm but still is aiming at the coast of flood-ravaged Mozambique on Wednesday April 5th, 2000.
		A winter-like storm hit parts of the eastern U.S. during April 9-10th, bringing damaging winds along with a dusting to several inches of snow from the Appalachians in North Carolina to over a foot of snow in Albany, New York.

		The Nikon Coolpix 990 is probably the most eagerly awaited digital camera of 2000, riding on the success and high praise of its now older brother the 950, Nikon had a high standard to upkeep (and lots of little niggles to fix).
		Agfa today announce their palm-sized "dual use" digital camera it's only VGA (640 x 480) and has a built-in 2MB memory (enough for 32 images) or it can be used as a webcam with ArcSoft VideoImpress or Microsoft NetMeeting.
		The monthly Canadian digital camera websize megapixel.net have published their April edition (available in both English and Francais), this month they review the Canon Powershot S20, HP C500, Sony DCR-PC100 and interesting Minolta RD-3000 (a camera which uses two 1.5 megapixel CCD's to produce a 2.7 megapixel image).

		On April 25, 2000, the United States Supreme Court will hear the Center for Reproductive Rights' challenge to a Nebraska law banning abortions.
		Current Status: Despite an impending April review of Nebraska's "partial-birth abortion" ban by the U.S. Supreme Court, on March 2, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans, LA reviewed a similarly worded 1997 Louisiana ban that was struck down in March 1999 by U.S. Judge G. Thomas Porteous, Jr.
		Although the Center for Reproductive Rights requested the Fifth Circuit to postpone its hearing until the High Court issues its decision on the constitutionality of such abortion bans, the motion was denied.
