		IBM with its PowerPC - in April the company has announced the PowerPC IAP (Internet Appliance Platform) - the RISC core, a memory interface, a LCD display interface and other similar components that are built into the chip.

	SOHO Hot Shot: Biggest Solar X-Ray Flare on Record
		A 1.3M WAV file with a type II solar radio burst at 50 MHz, recorded during the initial shock wave by Thomas Ashcraft in New Mexico.
		At 21:51 UT, Monday 2 April 2001, active region 9393 unleashed a major solar flare.
		Now reclassified as at least an X20, it appears to be the biggest X-ray flare on record, most likely bigger than the one on 16 August 1989, also an X20 flare, and definitely more powerful that the famous 6 March 1989 flare which was related to the disruption of the power grids in Canada.

		Harney Pond Canal where the last BASSMASTER Eastern Invitational tournament was held (Jan. 11 - 13, 2001) and won from with a 44-pound, 4-ounce catch that included a trophy 9-pound, 7-ounce and an 8-pound, 5-ounce bass.

		In a meeting of the Advisory Committee in February 2001, a proposal for Strategic Reorganization of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative has been discussed, following the decision in the AC meeting in Ottawa in October 2000.
		The background for this proposal was the realization that the DCMI has organically grown out of the initial Workshop Series, but that as deployment of DC metadata grows, there is a need for increased stability of the standards and associated activities.
		In December 2000 and January 2001, a number of conference calls have taken place to discuss several drafts of this; in early February a subset of the AC met in Madeira to discuss the final draft.
