  The Children's Hospital at Westmead - Research - Australian Paediatric Surveillance Unit (APSU)
The APSU's secondary aims are to provide a mechanism for national collaborative research; to educate clinicians by issuing updated clinical and diagnostic information on the conditions being studied; and to disseminate information acquired by the Unit to guide best practice, appropriate prevention strategies and optimal health resource allocation.
The APSU is an important component of the national network of State, Commonwealth and other research agencies that seek to monitor the health and well being of Australian children and young people.

Her parents, Ruth and Ervin Milliken, APSU alumna, established an endowment to create this scholarship, which is to be awarded each calendar year to a graduate of Northwest High School in Montgomery County.
