		The AQUAmark is designed to be attached to fishing gear at regular intervals, typically on a head rope for bottom set nets, or on a foot rope for drift nets.
		To ensure adequate acoustic coverage for porpoise deterrence, the AQUAmark 100 should be attached to the ends of the gear, and at separations not exceeding 200 metres.
		This spacing has also been found acceptable for the AQUAmark 200 where dolphin bycatch is a problem, although closer spacing may be necessary when there is deliberate predation from fishing gear.

		In the past we have used AquaMark 2.3 in our benchmark suite and although still a reputable application, Massive figured it was time for the next best thing.
		This is AquaMark 3, a benchmark that will utilize some of the finest DirectX 9 capabilities like Pixel and Vertex Shaders 2.0, and yet is by far not as Shader dependant as Half-Life is, for example.

		The first case looked at by Tom's Hardware is that of AquaMark 3, where it is suggested that ATi are lightening the workload on their cards by rendering certain parts of some of the tests incompletely.
		One of the AquaMark images seems to be simply a case of one card having a brighter or higher gamma image than the other, which is in no way going to improve performance.
		This may also be the case in the second AquaMark image, but from the evaluation here it looks as if there may indeed be more to it than a simple gamma issue.

		The AQUAmark series of pingers are the result of bioacoustics research by the Underwater Acoustic Research Group at Loughborough University, England.
		Their primary application is to reduce the unintentional catch of marine mammals in commercial fisheries and other marine operations.
		Further trials in the Mediterranean in 2001 with the AQUAmark 200 showed a similar reduction in dolphin bycatch.

		The positive outcome – just one animal caught in a net equipped with deterrents although 23 were killed in nearby unprotected nets during the study – prompted a Danish regulation requiring the use of such acoustic deterrents on all wreck nets (one type of gillnet) from August to October.
		The preliminary trials in the French Mediterranean ‘Thonaille’ fishery using AQUAmark 200, a lower frequency device adapted for use with dolphins, showed an 87.3% reduction in the number of dolphins caught, and a further 1600 devices were subsequently purchased to support an extended study involving the whole fleet.

		Stats are in my sig, but I need to OC my card again, see what its new limits are with better case cooling and these ram sinks, and my dual channel memory, alteast.
		If you'll notice my CPU score is actually worse, and I think thats because of this stupid Ram I have, doesnt like to run at ultra 400 Level.

		the problem is this when using aquamark before ocing everything is fine from what i can see i ran 4 tests with it my scores were 49,107 49,057, 48,806, before oc..
		Aquamark is known to be flakey, so don't worry about it.
		both aquamark and bf2 are pretty system intensive, not just gpu intensive like 3dmark 03, 05.

		Thankfully, since my initial article Massive Development (the developers of AquaMark 3) have stepped forward and very kindly made available to me an entire library of reference rasteriser images from their benchmark to use as a comparison.
		According to Elite Bastards the found irregularities in Aquamark 3 are caused by a driver bug which possibly affects gamma levels so that it makes things darker than they should be.
		There seems to be no performance benefit from doing this, so to call it a 'questionable optimisation' seems wholly inappropriate in light of this.

		There are nine different chapters to AquaMark 3, which test everything from the particle system (particle upon particle texture build) to the terrain system (aquatic plants and the like as you pass over the bottom of the ocean floor).
		According to the faq, "AquaMark 3 approximately generates 30% of it's screen pixels (without overdraw) through ps2.0." The detail is quite impressive and can be visually seen in the bubbles of the water that are shown, as well as the light reflectivity in the bubbles of water.
		Meanwhile, the Mobility Radeon 9600 on the average is situated in the mid teens.

		So I think that the Aquamark test is more biased toward the graphics capabilities.
		Just want to educate some uninformed people because aquamark tests are so popular now that everybody think that they have to get some high score on it or otherwise there is something wrong with their system.
		I just want to proudly announce that my aquamark 2001 score is like shit, less than 5K, LOL, :bawl: but on the sandra test, my mobile 2500+ runs on a par with an athlon 3200+ :angel: although I got a chip with a lousy stepping (AQY something).
