Arab League and the Arab-Israeli conflict - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The day after the state of Israel was proclaimed, six League members, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Transjordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, supported by other members (notably Yemen), coordinated the attack on the State of Israel in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War and explicitly stated the destruction of the newly-formed Jewish state as their goal.
In November 1945, the Arab League reestablished the Arab Higher Committee as a supreme executive body of Palestinian Arabs in the territory of the British Mandate of Palestine, but it fell apart due to infighting.
In June 1946, the Arab League imposed upon the Palestinians the Arab Higher Executive, renamed into "Arab Higher Committee" in 1947, with Amin al-Husayni as its chairman and Jamal al-Husayni as vice-chairman.

Arab Anti-Semitism And the Arab-Israeli Conflict
Manifestations of Jew hatred were attributed to the ongoing resentments stemming from the hostilities between Israel and the Arabs rather than to any deep-seated prejudice.
The United States and the European Union must not allow Arafat, Mubarak or other leaders in the Arab world think that they can tolerate or encourage anti-Semitism in their societies with impunity.
Until recently, the Arabs argued shrewdly, though falsely, in their reading of history, maintaining that they should not be paying the price for the murder of six million Jews by Europeans.

PEACEWatch - Middle East Conflict News Commentary
It is no use pointing out that the Irgun/Lehi action was not sanctioned by the Zionist leadership, that Jewish evictions of Arabs followed Arab evictions of Jews, or that over 420 Jewish civilians were killed by enemy action and many more died due to starvation and illness during the Arab blockade of Jerusalem.
To be sure, right-wing Israeli commentators made the same mistake, and put up an utterly unjustified wailing that the US had abandoned the borders of June 4, 1967, which were slightly better for Israel than the armistice borders.
April 9 is the anniversary of the attack by revisionist Zionists on the Arab village of Deir Yassin in 1948.

The shock of the attack, and the strength of the Arab assault, led to a reassessment of the political and military balance in the Middle East.
No Arab state had made peace with Israel, and in 1967, events conspired to bring war between Israel on the one hand, and Egypt, Syria, and Jordan on the other.
It culminated in the Arab revolt of 1936, which left hundreds of Arabs and Jews dead.

 Pol -1384 Arab-Israeli Conflict
There is no element of trust between Israelis and Palestinians or between Israelis and other Arabs; in the early years of the peace process, at least until 1996, such a trust was evident.
From the original clash between Zionism and Arab-Palestinian nationalism, this conflict grew to an inter-state rivalry between Israel and its immediate Arab neighbors even as it remained a localized "civil" war between Israel and the Palestinians who live under its occupation.
Our discussions will pay special attention to the Conflict's historical development and changing nature over the years; the role of outside powers (Britain, the U.S., and the former Soviet Union especially) in contributing to the conflict; and the consequences this conflict holds for regional and international actors.
