Though "Arabesque" generally flies under the radar of today's moviegoers, fans of "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" might want to watch this film's assassination sequence, which to me bears remarkable, um, similarity to the one in the sci-fi flick.
The leading man is Gregory Peck, who plays American David Pollock, a visiting professor of ancient languages who is persuaded by the Arab prime minister to infiltrate the household of a Middle Eastern oil tycoon, who is suspected of nefarious doings.
One of these days, Arabesque will be released in dvd format and, while it may not be Charade, it's still a pretty good sophisticated romantic thriller worthy of being added to anyone's personal collection.

  Arabesque - LoveToKnow 1911
This owes its origin to the excavation and recovery of ancient monuments, and was developed chiefly by the sculptors of the north, and the painters of central Italy; by the Lombardi of Venice, by Agostino Busti of Milan, by Bramante of Urbino, by Raphael, by Giulio Romano, and others of nearly equal merit.
Very beautiful examples in sculpture of this cinquecento Arabesque are found in the churches of Venice, Verona and Brescia; in painting, the most complete specimens are those of the Vatican Loggie, and the Villa Madama at Rome and the ducal palaces at Mantua.
The Vatican Arabesques, chiefly executed for Raphael by Giulio Romano, Gian Francesco Penni, and Giovanni da Udine, though beautiful as works of painting, are often very extravagant in their composition, ludicrous and sometimes aesthetically offensive; as are also many of the decorations of Pompeii.

Arabesque - its style, composition and principles can be found in virtually every objet d'art of classical Islam.
Although arabesque has strong roots in the Arab rendition of art, it does show a much wider flavour of regional influence.
The reason why Arabesque gained as much significance and popularity throughout the Islamic world is mainly because it has flexibly evolved and flourished regionally, while still retaining its original principles.

There is typically intense fl speckling throughout the body, the belly is strongly marked in fl as well as the head and the tail blotches are fl.
Steve Hammond has also produced a line of arabesque boas known as "sunburst" arabesque that have little to no fl speckling and intense orange, pink and gold hues.

Pilgrims less adventurous than Bowles can tap into these same pleasures through this sensuous and ambitious compilation of house music, dance tracks, world beat and cross-over collaborations drawn from the most cutting-edge contemporary DJs, rock bands and solo artists, most of who made their names recently in the Paris and London club scenes.
Reaching as widely as the best world music collections do, Arabesque is exceptional for the crystal clarity of its production, the emotional intensities of the singers and the seamless diversity.
The entire collection is sustained by each musician's mastery of their respective musical traditions and their willingness to set those atmospheres to contemporary urban grooves.

Arabesque (1966)   (Site not responding. Last check: )
As has been duly noted before, "Arabesque" is essentially an update of Stanley Donen's own "Charade." This time, however, the plot twists are more convoluted, the camerwork is decidedly more "mod" (shooting through chandeliers, reflections in sunglass lenses, etc.) and there is an even greater emphasis on the female star's wardrobe.
His performance isn't nearly as bad or hammy as some other reviews have indicated, but where Loren's charisma and beauty aid her in creating a completely different character than Audrey Hepburn's in "Charade," Peck comes off as an unfortunately blurred carbon coby of Grant in that earlier film.
Having said that, "Arabesque" still stands on its own merits as a cracking good comedy-thriller; the final few scenes are terrifically suspenseful.
