Arbiter (electronics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Arbiters are used in asynchronous circuits to order computational activities for shared resources to preventing concurrent incorrect operations.
Classical arbiters are specially designed not to oscillate wildly when meta-stable and to decay from a meta-stability as rapidly as possible, typically by using extra power.
Arbiters are required in computers which have multiple CPUs or other devices accessing memory, and have more than one clock.

 Arbiter Electronics by Dynaudio: Amplifier
The main development objective for the Arbiter amp was to achieve absolute neutrality and realistic dynamics under normal listing levels and at intensely high output levels, while performing with limitless power and authority.
The Arbiter amp outer-chassis is produced from specially die-cut aluminum, and the inner frame construction is milled out of hard cone-block.
The Arbiter amp's battery power supply operates in the same fashion as that of the preamp and allows for 12 - 15 hours of continuous usage in "battery" mode.

 Arbiter Electronics by Dynaudio: Circuitry
Tube designs have substantial disadvantages in that the signal voltage in the millivolt area is amplified with 300 volt anode voltage, causing them to instantly change their properties under high thermal loading and to operate inefficiently and inaccurately in the low frequency range.
However, it was a prerequisite for the Arbiter to achieve absolute balance of channels and precision of the volume setting.
The Arbiter's audio switching design works in the opposite manner by conducting the signal through an inactive relay while all non-conducting relays are activated.

Quantum decoherence - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
Decoherence also takes place in digital computation when a special device called an arbiter leaves a metastable state (a highly indeterminate quantum state) into a stable (classical state).
When an arbiter is in a metastable state it is probable that it will transition into a state that is less metastable.
Arbiters are designed so that the probability of transitioning to a state with less metastability rapidly grows larger as the arbiter gets further away from metastability until the arbiter gets close to a stable state.

In approximately 1965, JED acquired Arbiter Electronics from J. and I. (Ivor) Arbiter.
Because Arbiter Electronics was also into manufacturing and distribution, the most logical extension of this was to create a line of sound-reinforcement equipment, which was designed and first built in the rear of the West End Sound City music shop.
And so, from approximately 1967 on, all of the Sound City amps and cabinets (as well as Arbiter Electronics' other products) were relabeled from Arbiter Electronics, Ltd. to either Arbiter Sound City or Dallas Arbiter, Ltd. (e.g., the Arbiter Fuzz Face became the Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face and was also reissued in the mid-80s).

Metastability in electronics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Metastability in electronics is the ability of a non-equilibrium electronic state to persist for a long (and theoretically unboundable) period of time (see asynchronous circuit).
In electronics, the flip-flop is a device that is susceptible to metastability.
In electronics, the arbiter is a device that suffers from metastability.

 Arbiter Electronics by Dynaudio: Reviews
Slowly but surely, the rest of the world is catching up with the Arbiter, which had pulled far ahead and still mark the apex.
Besides the opulent orgy of sound the preamp lets through, the greatest merit of the Arbiter must be that it made us question much of what was held as given before with a thoroughness we wouldn't have mustered without this extraordinary component.
Listening to the Arbiter is a singular experience - Dynaudio manufactures 8 to 10 sets a year for its affluent customers.

 Arbiter Electronics by Dynaudio
As their name would imply, the Arbiter preamp and monoblock power amplifiers were built to establish an authoritative audio benchmark against which all other equipment could be judged.
The Arbiter was not developed to be sold, whether in large quantities or small.
The design, build, and sound quality of the Arbiter has provided Dynaudio with a technological and performance edge over all available commercial products, as well as a solid working advantage upon which the future engineering and development of new loudspeaker technologies and innovations will be based.

Flip-flop (electronics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In electronics and digital circuits, the flip-flop or bistable multivibrator is a pulsed digital circuit capable of serving as a one-bit memory.
The first electronic flip-flop was invented in 1919 by William Eccles and F.
Clocked flip-flops are prone to a problem called metastability, which happens when a data or control input is changing at the instant of the clock pulse.

The FIFO connected to the data output of a component is called an initiator while the FIFO connected to the data input of a component is dubbed a target.
To transfer payload data between the initiator and target FIFOs, an arbiter is required to provide flow control in the WLAN prototyping platform.
Once data enters in the initiator FIFO a request signal is sent to the arbiter to gain access to the shared payload bus.

The U.S. electronics industry has been slow to adopt disruptive technology that will keep it viable in consumer electronics.
At a large, well-known consumer electronics company in Japan, engineers have embraced a design style in which a product team starts at a high level of abstraction, allowing design tools to fill in the details.
Given the challenges in using existing methodologies, creating a flow suited to platform-based design should be an electronics industry imperative.
