Copyrights and trademarks for existing entertainment (film, TV, comics, wrestling) properties are held by their respective owners and are used with permission or for promotional purposes of said properties.
When CrossGen Comics entered the scene a little over two years ago, the company promised great comics loosely bound together by a shared universe.
The problem, though, is that the existing means for independent creators to get their works published isn't equal to the task of delivering them to the currently troubled marketplace.

The belief in angels is central to the religion of Islam, beginning with the belief that the Qur'an was dictated to the Prophet Muhammad by the chief of all angels, the archangel Jibril (Gabriel).
Angels foretold to Abraham the birth of Isaac, to Manoah the birth of Samson, and to Abraham the destruction of Sodom.
Angels are referred to in connection with their special missions as, for instance, the "angel which hath redeemed," "an interpreter," "the angel that destroyed," "messenger of the covenant," "angel of his presence," and "a band of angels of evil" (Gen. xlviii.

Giacomo PUCCINI (1858-1924) Filmed Opera: Tosca: Film Music on the Web CD Reviews February 2002
Parts of this act take a regressive approach to the film’s action – scenes from earlier in the film are here played in reverse, such as Tosca placing flowers at the statue of the Archangel or Scarpia moving back into the darkness of his rooms at the Palazzio.
It is not in any real sense an analytical film – it is filmed exactly as the libretto directs – but takes as its focal point the drama and lyricism of its three protagonists.
This is a film where the voice is the star – and even given the diversity, and beauty, of the staging it remains so.

 Three Films by Guy Maddin
Maddin constructed Archangel (1990) as though it were a very early sound film, sporting shaky intertitles and sparse dialogue, and the film certainly looks of a piece with the silent era.
There are, however, some inspired touches, like Maddin's decision to fill a giant air gun with smashed bull-rish tips before every shot, blasting out a cloud of spores that make the film's backdrop look like the single most fertile forest in movie history.
Again, the film isn't made so much in the mode of silent films as it is to evoke the experience of watching a battered and bruised silent film 80 years on, with scratches all over the celluloid, images jumping in the gate and random frames missing.

 Airwolf (1985)
But it is hard to take the film seriously - with names like Stringfellow Hawke and Michael Archangel, the characters seem to be drawn out of comic-books.
But the cinematic release is only something that makes the film’s tv origins even more evident, particularly when the grainy stock footage of ships and wildlife is blown up into unflattering perspective that fails to mix with the rest of the film.
What does impress about the film are the crisp, powerful scenes of the Airwolf in operation - but otherwise there is almost nothing of interest.

Benny misses his cue, and spends the rest of the film trying to evade a pair of fallen angels who are out to stop him.
Comedian Jack Benny had several ongoing schticks in his wildly popular radio and television programs of the 1940's and '50's: his age, perennially 39; his miserliness; his screechy violin playing; and his unsuccessful movie career, especially the film which he considered his biggest bomb.
The fanciful story begins when Benny, a trumpet player in a band, falls asleep and dreams that he's an archangel sent to earth to blow his horn at midnight, signalling the end of the world.

The DVD Journal Reviews : Random Harvest
"I love Random Harvest," Guy Maddin announced on the audio commentary track to his film Archangel, which also deals with the theme of amnesia.
Still, it's easy to see why Maddin loves the film, especially in shots such as one early in the film of Smith's yearning hopefulness when an elderly couple drop by the asylum to confirm if Smith is their long lost son.
Random Harvest is credited to three scripters and directed by Mervyn LeRoy, a conventionally minded and pedestrian studio hack whose career spanned most of the 20th century before being put out to pasture in the 1960s.

 Van Helsing (2004) : Forum
Throughout the film, when he encountered Dracula, he was called 'Gabriel.' Either his name was Gabriel Van Helsing, or, as the film led me to believe, Van Helsing was actually the archangel Gabriel, the right hand of God, who slain Dracula all those years ago.
Of course, as the title oh-so-cleverly suggests, the film is about Van Helsing, but I couldn't tell, as I watched the movie, if he was Abraham Van Helsing, or a completely different person, but based off of the original character of Abraham.
