A folio book of coloured engraved portraits, coats of arms, emblems and mottos of Archduke Albert of Austria (1559-1621), the Habsburg Governor of the Spanish Netherlands, his wife Isabella (who was also his first cousin) and his ancestors back to 400 AD.
The portrait of Isabella, whom Albert married in 1599, must have replaced a portrait of a Duke or Archduke of Austria, for the original frame includes their arms as used until 1404.
