Founded in 1983, Archelon is a non-governmental organization whose purpose is to preserve sea turtles and their natural habitat through monitoring, research and environmental education.

Just so people are aware for future reference, in Archelon, the "ch" is actually pronounced like a "k." I don't know why it was spelled that way, and I can understand why many people would think the "ch" is pronounced like in the word "cheer."
