Victoria Ka‘iulani, formally Victoria Kawekiu Lunalilo Kalaninuiahilapalapa Ka‘iulani Cleghorn (October 16, 1875–March 6, 1899), was heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Hawai‘i and held the title of crown princess.
Ka‘iulani's father was a Scottish financier from Edinburgh and former Royal Governor of O‘ahu Archibald Cleghorn.
King Kalākaua, Queen Kapi‘olani, Cleghorn, and Princess Lili‘uokalani talked about the issue and it was determined that it would be in the young Princess's best interests that she be given a British education.

In the late 1880s, young Hawaiian Princess Ka`iulani reportedly rode a 7-and-a-half foot alaia koa surfboard that turned out to be one of the few pre-Twentieth Century Hawaiian watercraft to survive termites and the cultural extermination of Nineteenth Century Hawai`i.
Archibald Cleghorn could only watch his young wife slowly dying, without knowing the reason why.
Archibald Cleghorn spent many hours planting and landscaping the 10 acre estate, including Ka`iulani’s banyon, which is the mother plant of all of Honolulu’s beautiful banyon trees.

Unlike her brothers and sister, Princess Likelike was raised in Hilo, Hawai`i.
It was after her return to Honolulu as a teenager, that her musical endeavors began in earnest, encouraged by Kalakaua, Lili`uokalani, Leleiohoku, and later by her husband Archibald S. Cleghorn, whom she married in 1870.
With her sister, she led one of the three royal music clubs that held regular friendly competitions to outdo each other in song and poetry.

1845-50 and immigrated to the US sometime before 1866 when he was married in La Salle, Illinois, and I have a few indications that Archibald Scott Cleghorn may be a family connection.
What I really would like to find, and haven't been able to do it, is some biographical information about Archibald Scott Cleghorn.
