  Archibald Hunter Arrington - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Archibald Hunter Arrington (13 November 1809 - 20 July 1872) was a U.S. Congressman from North Carolina from 1841 to 1845 and a member of the Confederate Congress during the American Civil War.
Arrington was a supporter of the Confederacy during the American Civil War -- he was a member of North Carolina's secession convention in 1861 and was a member of the First Confederate Congress, although he was defeated for re-election in 1863.
After the Civil War, Arrington was a delegate to the Union National Convention at Philadelphia in 1866, the chairman of the court of common pleas and quarter sessions for Nash County in 1866 and 1867 and a county commissioner in 1868.

In volume 1, 1824, there are copies of letters by Arrington relating to the appointment of Thomas N. Mann as political agent to Guatemala and the arrangements for his trip there aboard the U.S.S. Hornet; Mann died en route.

She married ARTHUR ARRINGTON, JR April 14, 1758 in Southampton Co., Virginia.
In 1777 when Nash County, NC was created by the General Assembly, Arthur Arrington was appointed one of the Commissioners to survey the line dividing it from Edgecombe.
Arrington was one of the first justices of Nash County and was appointed the first sheriff of the county by Governor Richard Craswell.

 Elijah Billingsley family
Pontotoc County grows cotton, which in the South usually meant slave labor, and there is a tradition in the family that Elijah owned a plantation and slaves.
In October 1865, the branch record has Elijah presiding in a Church court for Sister Catharine Hunter, who was excommunicated for “unchristian-like conduct.” Excommunications were much more common in those days, and for much smaller offenses, than now.
Sister Hunter “made satisfaction to the branch” and was rebaptized in early November.
