A Melbourne eight-piece with a pretentious name and a penchant for cute pop Architecture in Helsinki have completely and utterly "made with the handclaps" on their debut album.
For example, in the hands of a lesser band "The Owls Go" would be a jumbling, chaotic mess, but instead the eight members of Architecture in Helsinki manage to weave electronic blips and whistles, various horns, call-and-response vocals in and out (and under and over) what is otherwise a simple acoustic power-pop jingle.

Isobel Knowles and Cameron Bird of Architecture in Helsinki
Just watching Architecture in Helsinki set up their equipment was entertainment in its own right, from the untangling of hanging jungle vines to the emptying of a seemingly bottomless bags o' percussion -- tambourines, triangles, cow bells, bicycle horns -- used to supplement standard-issue hand claps, foot stomps, and ooh-la-las.
If Architecture in Helsinki comes off a bit precious on their records, the band's raucous live show is loose enough to not be, with an ongoing game of musical microphones that had band members switching positions and instruments after every song, seemingly at random.
