Ardbraccan was united to the Sees of Clonard, Duleek, Kells, Trim, Dunshaughlin, Slane and fore, all of which, except Duleek and Kells, were consolidated at the Great Synod of Kells, held by Cardinal Paparo in 1152.
Ardbraccan Church was de-consecrated in 1981 and most of the furnishings went to Florencecourt.
Ardbraccan Church is now in very poor condition and the Parish have not got the resources to ensure its preservation.

Bishop's Court took over from Ardbraccan House as the bishop's residence from 1780, until it was disposed of by the Church of Ireland in 1955, when the Holy Ghost Fathers bought the property.
The now disused Holy Ghost Fathers training centre in Ardbraccan was the ideal location for those working with the under-privileged to rest, pray and reflect and renew their commitments.

While Bishop of Meath he started to build the beautiful Ardbraccan house at Navan as a residence for the Bishops of Meath, although he continued to live at Oakley Park.
During the building of Ardbraccan House, Dr. Arthur Price was promoted Archbishop of Cashel.
It is recorded in Ware's antiquities that "it had been much to be wished that he never quitted Meath and then the house at Ardbraccan would have been finished and the noble and venerable Cathedral on the Rock of Cashel would have escaped his destructive hand."
