Arellano's dream turned ghastly in the wee hours Easter Sunday when the 32-year-old was accosted in the parking lot of his apartment, tied to a pickup truck and dragged by the feet for about two-thirds of a mile on a paved road.
According to a witness, Arellano was dragged from the back of a speeding red pickup with tinted windows and left for dead near a busy intersection, not far from his housing project, where the attack reportedly began.
Olga Andablo, the mother of Arellano's children who separated from him five years ago, said her ex-husband is a sociable person who played on a local soccer team with some of his friends from Mexico.
