We currently have a bunch of new waves of shows on G4 but when the new crowd likes them they will change and the new crowd will complain.
TechTv was once an educational and entertaining television channel, now placed in my mental rankings in an unidentifiable position somewhere between "Elephant Feces" and "Celine Dion".
G4 brought some ok shows too though, Arena is cool for the lan gamers, and even though Cinimatech isn't as good as EyeDrops but it is an ample replacement.

I swear it was the most ass-backwards thing to happen in television.
People like Leo Laporte, who had a wide appeal but was apparently not hip enough for G4, will always have work, but the young people like Foo, Yoshi, Sarah Lane, Kevin Rose and others may not be able to bounce back in a broadcast job if things go down the tubes.
This is not to say that life would be over (look at Megan Morrone, who has a beautiful daughter and is now carrying twins!), but you hate to see talented people get underservingly screwed.

G4 is a pretty good but some shows really suck like Electronic Playground and Portal.
Arena is alright but it gets boring after awhile.
I don't care about sports games, so Seat does nothing for me, and Arena just annoys me. Players is just pointless; let's watch c-grade actors play video games because they're vaguely related to some project they're promoting, yeah!

So basically what Comcast did was buying TechTV, merging G4 and TechTV into G4TechTV, and then dropping TechTV from G4TechTV and leave us with only G4TV and TechTV is gone for good.
looking at the whole thing i could only assume the reason g4 did what it did was to destroy tech tv :(and make tech tv fans hate g4.
there was no reason for g4 to buy tech tv in the first place.

It's not the best show in the world, but the fact that I'd watch it over just about anything, tells me that I'd probably be glued to the set if had G4.
One point I want to make is that the SEGA channel wasn't really a channel that had shows, it was a place were you could connect your Genisis up and dl Games and play them intill you turned off your system.
But this G4 channel thing does sound cool cause only gaming show out there right now is Extended Play on Tech TV and even though ts a good show its way to short.

You may be able to do so with the debut of G4, a new US cable channel (via participating Comcast cable providers) devoted entirely to video-gaming.
I'm assuming that the folks at G4 are just trying to create some buzz and do something fun at the same time.
A channel devoted to televising leagues and large LAN tournaments would help alleviate the limitations of GTV and HLTV, which are mostly related to bandwidth.
