ArenaNet was very careful to never call their game a MMORPG or an MMO, and clearly made the distinction that their game was really a new type of game that they would like to call a CRPG.
ArenaNet likes to make many promises to their consumers, but always plans ahead to cover their tracks if those promises cannot be fulfilled.
That being said, I hope that ArenaNet is relishing in the fact that their former employer has sold over 7 million copies of World Of Warcraft at +$15 US/month without having to resort to underhanded marketing.

Make players have to spend experience points to raise their character level, but in order to get to the next level the player must have fufilled specific requirements (reached a specific point of total experience gained, completed specific tasks etc).
And from what ArenaNet has already stated, the higher level your character is the more skills are avalible to be used (purchased??).

Most of the time, all I see on the forums (and i've been observing more threads than I have been responding to) when it comes to arenanet is a sarcy question to jab at them, or a complaint or a rant.
We should all help them and point them out, and even though that obviously isn't going to happen, this thread should be a reminder that arenanet do much more good than bad, and if all everyone can do is whine, then it's just a sad thing that you still play the game.
