  1715 - 1716
The centre of the second line consisted of eight battalions of foot, viz., three of the Earl of Seaforth’s foot, two of the Marquis of Huntly’s, the Earl of Panmure’s battalion, and those of the Marquis of Tullibardine, of Drummond, commanded by the Viscount of Strathallan, and of Logie-Almond, and Robertson of Strowan.
In the hurry of their ascent, the second line pressed so closely upon the first as to occasion some confusion on the left when again getting into line, and it was in consequence of this disorder that the squadrons of horse forsook their position on the left, and took ground on the right.
Afraid of being outflanked by Argyle’s left wing, which extended far beyond his position, and being ignorant of what was passing on the right wing of the royalists, the view of which was concealed by the unevenness of the ground, Witham retired in the direction of Dunblane.

 Chicago ''L''.org: Stations - Argyle
The current station at Argyle was built circa 1921 as part of the elevation of the tracks of the Northwestern Elevated Railroad.
As part of this effort, the station also received granite compass roses inset into the sidewalk in front of the station entrance to assist customers leaving the station to navigate their way, and three-sided galvanized steel pylons in the station house and on the platform to display maps and station timetables.
As part of an overhaul championed by the local community in the late 1980s, the interior of the station was repainted in a red and green color scheme (the Chinese colors for prosperity and longevity) and the station's agent collection booth was trimmed like a Chinese tea house.

When Soo arrived in the Argyle neighborhood, he said he "felt a chill in my spine it was so bad." His first step was to write a letter to the Chicago Transit Authority about the horrible condition of the Argyle El station, which itself scared people away.

 Season 2004-2005 : Yeovil Town v Plymouth Argyle: Tues 24th August 2004
Phil Jevons was occasionally breaking past the Argyle back line again, but this time they were being saved by the linesman's flag, with a couple of those decisions looking dubious to say the least.
Although Argyle probably deserved it on the balance of possession, the manner of the penalty must have made Gary Johnson wonder if his decision to allow Argyle their earlier "gimme" goal was justified.
Argyle looked finished and they had no response to Yeovil's energy, with the likes of Kevin Gall still making rapid runs up the channel even on 120 minutes.

Argyle somehow managed to overcome a stiff breeze, which played havoc with the flight and bounce of the ball, some equally erratic refereeing from comedy official Marriner, and a home support vociferously behind under-pressure manager Ian Holloway to take an early lead.
Argyle, though, remained composedly in charge of the game, even though their patience must have been tested by the tolerance of Marriner, who allowed blatant body-checks and leading-arm jumps to go unpunished.
In their previous away game, at Watford, Argyle had shipped a breakaway goal within minutes of the restart; this time, they were handed the opportunity to post one when Norris won possession in the middle of the park.

Opened in 1979, the Argyle Line was created by reinstating a number of redundant sections of track in the Glasgow area which had been closed by the Beeching Axe.
The line serves stations between Dalmuir (a sub district of Clydebank) or Milngavie, and the Clyde Valley, terminating at either Motherwell, Larkhall, Coatbridge Central or Lanark.
The line then passes through Hamilton West, Blantyre and Newton before rejoining the WCML and the main route of the Argyle line between here and Cambuslang.

Before James J. Hill bought the Great Northern Railway in 1879 and accepted the task of completing the line from Crookston to the Canadian border, there already was a settler located on the area of the Middle River where Argyle is today.
Gervais was cunning, and he had staked a claim right in the path of the railway line and called his community Louisa in honor of the French king.
At the same time, the strategic location of Argyle makes it a great place to raise a family and commute to one of the larger regional communities located within 45 minutes of Argyle.

All of the yeast that Argyle uses is grown up in its own juice -- Rollin doesn't grow his yeast in warm water and pour it in with the juice as is the practice at so many other vineyards.

Argyle continued to advance toward Glenlivet, and pitched his camp in this district, near the Glenrinnes border.

After two hours’ hard fighting, the centre of Argyle’s line was thrown into confusion and driven back upon the reserve, which also became confused, and, in spite of his utmost efforts, fled from the field.

In 2004, some 318's are back working on the Wymess Bay and Largs services with the remainder on the North Clyde and Argyle Line services.
