  Aringay, La Union - Definition, explanation
Aringay is a 3rd class municipality in the province of La Union, Philippines.
Aringay remained a part of Pangasinan province until April 18, 1854, when a royal decree fused the northern towns of that province with the southern towns of Ilocos Sur to create the new province of La Union.
Japanese forces attacked Aringay on December 1941 and occupied the town until their brutal withdrawal in 1945-1946, when many Aringayenos were massacred.

Aringay (16°N 26', 120°E 21') is a municipality in the province of La Union in the Ilocos Region of the Philippines.
The municipalities of Caba and Burgos to the north, Agoo to the south, the foothills of the Cordillera mountain range to the east, and the South China Sea to the west form its boundaries.
The municipalities of Caba and Gallano were later carved out of Aringay’s northern borders.

The Division drove into the Caraballo Mountains, 19 February, toward its objective, Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines and the headquarters of General Yamashita.
Fighting against a fanatical enemy entrenched in the hills, the 33d took Aringay, 7 March, Mount Calugong, 8 April, and Mount Mirador, 25 April.
Baguio and Camp John Hay fell on 26 April, under the concerted attack of the 33d and the 37th Divisions.

  Aringay Bridge
Aringay, Luzon - 15 March 1945 - There were actually two bridges in close proximity to one another.
After four days of road building on the Rosario-Pugo road, Company B of the 108th Combat Engineers and the 1st Battalion of the 130th Infantry were ordered to clear the Aringay bridge across the river of mines and set up a base camp.
Their ultimate mission was to attack north of Caba, take the village of Bauang and open a fourth approach to Baguio along the Naguilian road.

Gegway bared that AKF veterinarian Winston Samaniego, who figured in a lot of dog rescue operations from dog smugglers lately spotted the dog shipment in Aringay town, also in La Union, prompting him to report to the police who immediately positioned themselves at the checkpoint in Naguillan.
Aringay is approximately 35 kilometers from Naguillan town.

Since 1992 my wife, Eva had a prayer that her family in Aringay, La Union, Philippines would hear the great Adventist message that she had just heard on a Kenneth Cox video series held in Feb./Mar.of 1992, and to build a church for them.
Shortly after arriving in Canada from Singapore, she stumbled across a brochure, advertising the meetings there in Prince George, B.C. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church and was warmly welcomed by the brethren.
Through correspondence with the office they said we can organize a church there in Aringay for there were some members living there, so logically it would work in her home town.
