And, secondly, that it was the Ark of the Covenant.
That is to say, the Biblical Ark of Moses, the lost golden treasure that once stood in the Tabernacle in the wilderness of Sinai – the same Ark that led Moses and his followers into the Promised Land and stood in the legendary Temple of Solomon.

"Ray" was released in November of 1999 in conjuction with "Ark", both albums, of which, found themselves in the 1st and 2nd spots on japanese billboards.
The first thing that's noticeable about "Ray" is that, from start to finish, the album is mostly a patchwork of gritty, dark, and almost seemingly traumatized rock.
In closing, "Ray" is a completly competent work of a band that has been around the corner and back again- quite a few times, in fact.

Like "ray", it's a fairly solid album all around, and has it's bright spots, but also like "ray" most of the songs are just mediocre and the album falls short of their others.
"ark", like "ray", shows the band was stretched a bit thin for music and ideas on this one, but nonetheless you get a good collection of very L'Arc-ish songs.
