Arkalyk (also known as Arqalyq) is a city in central (A landlocked republic south of Russia and northeast of the Caspian Sea; the original Turkic-speaking inhabitants were overrun by Mongols in the 13th century; an Asian soviet from 1936 to 1991) Kazakhstan.
The Arkalyk Business Centre describes today's Arkalyk as "a city of miners, of regional administrators, and people excited to live in a regional center".
Historically Arkalyk was a centre for the Soviet space programme.

Still unsteady on their feet, each astronaut was walked by the arm and sat down on a chair for a news conference before being flown to Star City, Russia's cosmonaut training center near Moscow.
