There are 75 Counties in the State of Arkansas which vary from the rich Delta farmlands of the Mississippi River valley to the rolling hills and gently sloped mountains of the Ozarks and Ouachitas are profiled in these pages.
The counties are governmental slices of the same pie, all part of the state of Arkansas but separately governed at the local level.
Each county has a county judge, who is the chief executive officer of the county, as well as several other countywide office holders including a quorum court (legislative body) made up of justices of the peace elected from single-member districts.

County Records: In 1906, Frank Smith reported, "The records of this county are intact except that during the reconstruction period, a few pages of the deed records and of the chancery court records were mutilated, and the taxbooks for the year 1878 are missing.
County Records: In 1906, Gibson Witt reported the county court records complete from July 1845; "tax books for 1845 consist of 10 sheets of fooscap paper sewn together"; the records are complete from county organization to the present.
County Records: In 1906, H.L. Norwood reported all records prior to 1883 destroyed in a courthouse fire except one probate record dating from Sept. 1876, one county court record dating from July 1876, and one circuit court record dating from Feb. 1877.

Sounds like a real mess up in Benton County, where voters were supposedly turned away because precincts ran out of paper ballots after the electronic machines failed to work.
I'm basing the northeast Arkansas trend on the fact that there are several precincts reporting for the district judge's race up there.
The Secretary of State's election web site will have county by county results, but they appear to be far behind the TV stations' and AP results.

Cotton growers in portions of Mississippi and Craighead counties in northeast Arkansas have again rejected a boll weevil eradication program for their area.
Burns said that unofficially, Mississippi County cast 428 votes for and 299 against the referendum and Craighead County voted 200 for and 115 against.
The northeast Arkansas Delta area now joins Texas' St. Lawrence area, lower Rio Grande Valley and Northern Blacklands around Dallas as the only regions in the United States not participating in official boll weevil eradication.
