For all you Armageddon Martin Pugh googlers, this was for you....
First heard Armageddon thru a friend from Texas in late 70’s.- went on to wear out 2 LP’s, 2 8 tracks (I know, showing my age), and finally scored the Japanese import version on CD which I think is actually very well remastered, on the A&M masterwork series.

Armageddon: The Album is a collection of music that is better than it should be.
So basically, ARMAGEDDON: THE ALBUM may relate relatively well to the overall movie it corresponds with, but it's ultimately a mixed bag that really doesn't have a lot for the adolescents- who are naturally the biggest audience when it comes to a thrilling-event movie like ARMAGEDDON.
Which means this album's buyers will probably be the ones who loved the movie (and, all things considered, that's far from enough to make this album a steady-seller for years to come).

Armageddon: (Trevor Rabin) One of the composers to rise out of Hans Zimmer's shadow is Trevor Rabin, whose work previously reviewed at Filmtracks was limited to Con Air, a score that received about the lowest marks possible.
Armageddon as a film was perhaps one of the worst cinematic motion pictures I had ever seen, with every cliche, poor character, and mangled plot twist utilized to its fullest.
This album has two or three tracks, amounting to fifteen minutes of music, that are very entertaining, and praise Rabin for shattering all the misconceptions I had about this score beforehand.
