One may stay on the shore and at the end of the farm, the path climbs the low cliff and follows the shore line to White Creek, at the end of which one climbs back onto the cliff to regain the coastal path.
When the 'New Barns - Arnside' sign is reached, by a metal 'Arnside' sign nailed to a tree, the way is to the left over the wall until an open space is reached at the shingly and sandy White Creek.
This indicated the Arnside Nature Trail and is followed to the right until it joins another path at the side of a wall.

Some days the clouds are so low that you are amongst them, but on a fine day the views of the mountains are spectacular and from Black Crag, (the highest point on the farm) you can see Windermere, Coniston Water, Esthwaite Water and Tarn Hows.
The farm has several claims to fame - The "Fell Farm" books by Marjorie Lloyd are based on High Arnside Farm and copies of the three books are available for loan for guests to read during their stay.
Unfortunately, we were not able to take any photographs, but anyone familiar with Low Arnside will instantly recognise the scene in the film.

Situated about a mile and a half outside of Arnside, and to the South East of Arnside Knott, Arnside tower is a spectacular and almost unique example of a Cumbrian pele tower.
The oldest building in the parish, the tower was built in the late 14 or early 15th century, and was a free standing tower (most pele towers had outbuildings or were attached to a house or hall of some sort)
Good views of the remains can be seen from the footpath that runs right alongside the tower, and if you have a camera with a good zoom, some excellent landscapes can be taken with the tower in the centre framed against the trees.

There are about 30 arches under the viaduct, of which the 3 or 4 on the Arnside side produce the features that you can reach.

Up to the 19th century, the village had been used as a local port, but the building of the viaduct caused the estuary to silt up.
The oldest building in the parish is Arnside Tower, a Pele tower built in the 14th/15th century as a defence against raids from Scots and the Border Reivers.
