On 25 March 1859 Te Aro people led by Mohi Ngaponga leased the section to John H E Wright for 14 years at £30 per annum.
These cultivations belonged to the people at Te Aro although there is a little evidence that other hapu of Te Atiawa in the proto-historic period had interests in the area.

, written by Hiroshi Aro and translated/published stateside by the wonderful people over at Studio Ironcat, L.L.C. [The "Thank you for bringing U.S. Miyu " people.] Printed before the recent movement to publish domestic manga in the Japanese fashion, it is, nonetheless, reproduced nicely on quality paper with solid binding and a nicely retouched cover.
[It is important – and very interesting – to note that, although the original runs of the two manga overlap — Futaba ran from 1991 to 1997 and Ranma ½ ran from 1987 to 1996 — the Aro series is a distinct work, with a storyline and artistic style that are uniquely its own.]

 History
During the period of the transatlantic slave trade, the people of Arochukwu whose name literally means the Aro of God (as in Aro [people] of Chukwu [God]), took control of the hidden location of the Cave Temple Complex and used it to their economic and political advantage.
From the 17th through 19th centuries, the Aro extended the religious and judicial infuence of Chukwu by establishing oracular shrines of Ibin Ukpabi in many villages and towns in Igboland.
Therefore, Aro escorts, either because they were forbidden from doing so or as a part of their traditional know-nothing mechanism of secrecy, simply would not talk to scholars about the so-called "Long Juju." And for some reason scholars worked under the assumption that they were not to ask such questions.

On ARO's veganism page, arguments are presented to retain the following two definitions for a vegan person: (1) a vegan person can be someone who strives to not contribute to harming animals or (2) a vegan person can be someone who strives to not purchase or use animal products.
