FORMER Italy coach Arrigo Sacchi has warned the trio of Serie A clubs in the semi-finals of the Champions League not to get carried away by their achievements so far and asked for a commitment to more attractive football.
Sacchi, who lambasted Italian football after its European failures last season, said this week’s thrilling quarter-finals were proof the knock-out format was superior to the group games and called for a return to the old European Cup.
Sacchi, who led AC Milan to European and domestic triumphs in the early Nineties and coached Italy to the final of the 1994 World Cup, now works as Parma’s technical director.
