4" Round Fieldstone Tower Building Instructions
Some of the pieces on this mold (such as the arrow slits) are difficult to cast without air bubbles in the pieces.
Arrow slits are one of the hardest pieces to get a paintbrush into, so I'm not gluing this ring down.
I found that the ring of arrow slits were just a hair smaller in diameter than the regular tower.

The aim of this paper is to record the presence of slits on the dorsal surface of telotarsus II, III, IV in larvae, nymphs and adults of Amblyomma cajennense (Fabricius, 1787).
Table, it was seen that the slit would not range in size between tarsus II, III, IV and among stages, even with the great increase of tarsal segment length.
The slits present on the tibia and femur of spiders legs have an important role in the kinestethic orientation and they are specifically adapted to change the stimulus on cuticle surface deformations into a stimulus carried via sense cells.

Embrasure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A loophole, arrow loop or arrow slit is a similar concept, but passes through a solid wall and was originally for use by archers.
A distinction was made between vertical and horizontal embrasures or loopholes, depending on the orientation of the slit formed in the outside wall.
Another variation had both horizontal and vertical slits arranged in the form of a cross, and was called a crosslet loop or an arbalestina since it was principally intended for arbalestiers (crossbowmen).

(L) In slit mutants, there are gaps in the photoreceptor innervation of the lamina, correlated with regions of the lamina devoid of glia (asterisk) and uneven innervation in regions containing clumps of glia (arrow).

Arrow Slits :: Stronghold Knights :: Ready to serve you!
The biggest advantage to this is that you archers will now automatically attack and, as shown later in this tutorial, they have a good field of view especially if you place enough arrow slits to allow the field of view to overlap (the spacing we've shown throughout this tutorial is ideal).
That's right, the arrow slits allow arrows to pass through but units can still walk across the top of them.
In the design we use throughout this tutorial, you can usually get three archers behind each arrow slit - one directly behind it and the other two are either side.

HHMI News: New Class of Molecular Cues Guides Nervous System Wiring
Thanks to the Slit protein, which Goodman and his colleagues in the first of the three Cell articles call the "midline repellent," the developing brain avoids a tangle of catastrophic miswiring.
While Brose was isolating the mammalian versions of Slit in collaboration with the Goodman laboratory, Wang was attempting to isolate an unknown protein that induced branching of neuronal axons, the cable-like structures that neurons grow to establish contacts with other neurons.
In the case of Slit, the researchers already have an inroad into understanding how the signal is read by the growth cone because they had previously identified its repulsive receptor, Robo.

Arrow slit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An arrow slit (often referred to more formally as an arrow loop) is a thin vertical aperture in a fortification through which an archer can launch arrows largely free from personal danger.
The thin vertical aperture permits the archer large degrees of freedom to vary the elevation and direction of his bowshot but makes it difficult for attackers to harm the archer since there is only a small target to aim at.
