  Art Scholl - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Art Scholl (24 December 1931 - 16 September 1985) was a renowned American aerobatic pilot, aerial cameraman, flight instructor and educator based in Southern California.
Scholl held FAA certificates as an instructor and airline transport-rated pilot in land planes, seaplanes, gliders, multi-engine planes and both piston and turbine-powered helicopters.
Art Scholl's Super Chipmunk N13A was sold in April 1972 to J. Reid Garrison, FBO operator at the Oconee Airport in Clemson, South Carolina, and moved to the Anderson Municipal Airport in Anderson, South Carolina, when Garrison relocated his business there in the 1980s.

Scholl's Dance/Art opens its 20th season with "Divine Divas," a tribute to legendary women from the music industry at 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1.
The first of Scholl's new works included in the program is entitled "Chain of Fools," and features Turner's "What's Love Got to do With It?" and "I Can't Stand the Rain," as well as Franklin's "Respect." These songs set the mood for a passionate dance piece with polished choreography.
Scholl's second contribution to the show is called "Crazy," a whimsical tribute to Pasty Cline.

Betts met Scholl at Montagna, but the idea to produce wine together was born during an outing in the forest near Aspen late in the summer of 2003, as the two foraged for tasty porcini and chanterelle mushrooms.
Scholl said he makes business decisions with an eye to the individuals involved, and "Richard is a brilliant, brilliant wine guy, one of the smartest wine guys in America," he said.

Born in the Milwaukee suburb of Brown Deer, Art learned to fly in 1950 and by 1974 was judged the U.S. National Aerobatics Champion.
Along with his credentials as a top competition and air show pilot Scholl held an AA, BS, MA and PhD in Aeronautical Engineering and was a professor of aeronautics for 18 years.
Art held most of the fixed wing pilot certificates -- ATP and instructor and was also a mechanic holding the AandP Mechanic Certificate and Inspection Authorization.

Art Scholl remains one of the greatest aerobatic performers of all time.
Year after year, from the late 1950s to the mid 1980s he added unique airshow flourishes, like riding on his own wing, aerobatics with his dog Aileron nestled in the cockpit behind him, picking up a ribbon near the ground with his vertical fin and dramatically flying a low-level outside loop from the top down.
