Bank of Canada - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is the sole issuer of banknotes in Canada.
The principal role of the Bank of Canada, as defined in the Bank of Canada Act, is "to promote the economic and financial welfare of Canada." Today, however, it has a more narrow and specific internal definition of that mandate: to keep the rate of inflation between 1% and 3%.
The head of the Bank of Canada is the Governor, who is appointed by the bank's board of directors.

The creative impulse is quite evident in the surviving examples of metalwork of earlier centuries, in the carved doors of monasteries and in the fine collections of Armenian carpets found in the museums of Yerevan.

 NAIVE ART IN CANADA
A very prosaic problem attends any discussion of naive art in Canada: the study of such art is still in its infancy.
We have been long enough in recognising the contribution of folk art to our culture; naive art, a much less common contribution, has yet to receive the attention that it deserves.
One of the realities confronting l9th-century immigrants to Canada was the overwhelming vastness of the land itself.

"It's that nobody believes in art in Canada," says Jewison, who is in town tonight and tomorrow to make appearances at the Local Heroes film fest.

Even if he is a professional expatriate, Jewison remains proudly Canadian and keenly interested in the arts in his native land.
