Well known attractions are the Natur- und Tierpark Goldau and one of the valley stations of the Arth-Rigi Bahn connecting to the mountain Rigi [1] also know as Queen of the Mountains.

You can see Arth (at the lake), Oberarth (on the right under the arrow), Goldau (in the mid of the arrow), the lake of Laurenz (behind).
It was one of the first buildings in the region above Arth, placed maybe in the best place: on the northern side there is a wonderful view of the lake of Zug; it is possible to see up to Cham (the other end of the lake).
Our house was built in 1947 by a the owner of the only industry in Arth as his residence.
The construction of the Goldau - Staffel rail track started in the summer of 1873, and in 1874 the Arth-Oberarth-Goldau section was begun after the definitive location of the railway station in Arth had been agreed.
In 1870, a committee of 12 citizens from Arth obtained the concession from the Schwyz Cantonal Council for the routes between Staffelhöhe and Kulm as well as between Arth, Oberarth and Kulm.
The Arth Company immediately started to tackle the construction of the panoramic route Staffelhöhe-Rigi Kulm.
Back in 1911 a railway (formerly part of the St Gotthard[?] main route) ran along its eastern shore past Walchwil[?] to Arth[?] at its south end, which was connected by a steam tramway with the Arth-Goldau[?] station of the St Gotthard line.
This line ran from Arth[?] along the western shore to Immensee, where it bears south-west to Lucerne, while from Immensee another railway led (at first some way from the shore) to Cham, 3 miles west of Zug.
The first steamer[?] was placed on the lake in 1852.
ArthGoldau is situated on the busy Gotthard line at the junction of the Luzern and Zug/ Zürich routes.
These provide a good impression of the landscape around ArthGoldau.
Not only did we film the station from the platforms, but also included are long distance shots and panoramic views of trains travelling to and from Luzern and Zürich.
Goldau, at the foot of the Rossberg and Rigi mountains, Arth on Lake Zug and Oberarth offer everything that is needed for active recreation off the beaten track.
The Landscape and Animal Park in Goldau makes this area is a popular destination for excursions.
Daechli with the Terrace offers a superb view down to the Zugersee, Arth, Goldau over to Walchwilerberg and to Gnipen.
At Goldau, Rigibahn is at one end of the SBB station, in a building across the railway line.
At "First" we have the option of taking the train down to Goldau (the railway station is a short and easy walk from the Restaurant) or proceeding to Kaltbad for the train down to Vitznau.
Starting the journey from Goldau by a cogwheel railway we will change in Kräbel to an aerial cableway to Rigi Scheidegg - or we remain seated for another half an hour when we go up to the top of Rigi, the Kulm.
The flight past vertical Rocks and across steep forests leads us to Goldau, more than 1100m deeper.
On Rigi Kulm it takes us 5 minutes on foot to reach the take off place, on Rigi Scheidegg the cablecar drives us right to the take off place.
Descending towards Goldau you can still observe an impressive line of rock fall as you walk through a natural rock garden created by a catastrophic rockslide which buried the village of Goldau in 1806.
Other attraction: Central Switzerland's zoo is situated in a wildl and romantic area, which was created by the historic landslide in Goldau.
Unrestrained and uncaged, the animals live in their natural habitat - in the midst of mighty rock boulders.
From Zug to ArthGoldau it's a lovely train ride along Zugersee.
