Hutt, W. A graduate of the London School of Economics, Hutt joined the University of Cape Town faculty where he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Commerce in 1931.
Hutt was a "a classical liberal economist." He was to spend most all of his working life in South Africa.
"He cared not a fig for the vested interests he offended (although he defended the system by which they lived)..." (Seldon.) Hutt attacked the politicians and the Keynesian policies which they adopted for there own use; as far as Hutt was concerned politicians sacrificed principles for expediency.

 Wellington - Wikipedia
Wellington was named in honour of Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington and victor at the Battle of Waterloo.
Greater Wellington or the Wellington Region means the entire urban area, plus the rural parts of the cities and the Kapiti Coast, and across the Rimutaka Range to the Wairarapa.
Legend states that the settlers constructed their first homes at "Britannia" (now Petone) on the flat area at the mouth of the Hutt River but when this proved too swampy and flood-prone they transplanted the plans without regard for a more hilly terrain—Wellington has some extremely steep streets running straight up the sides of hills.

Sgt Arthur Lockyear! If we misbehaved it was a swipe with his cape that did the damage, and no help from our parents, who always said " You must have deserved it ".
I was around when Arthur Lockyear was the local bobby, and without doubt he prevented many a kid from going off the rails, because he not only cared, but had excellent intelligence as to who the real villains were.
Arthur Lockyear should not be forgotten for dedication such as his is rarely seen.
