Arthur J. Gunning, SM1 died July 5, 2005 at his residence in Sag Harbor, N.Y. Gunning was a Signalman aboard the U.S.S. Chippewa (ATF 69) during WWII.
Epp, Anne received a flag that was flown over the capital in his honor.
In addition to Anne, his wife of 57 years, Epp is survived by a son Steven of Sammanish, WA, and two daughters, Kathleen Epp of Huntington, NY and Patricia Lanza, of Jupiter, Fl a as well as a brother Eddie and many nieces and nephews.
