Arthur is described as being tall and thin, a physicality inherited by his third and sixth sons Percy and Ron while his first son Bill only inherited the tall stature but not the thin build, and as having a receding hairline and glasses; third son Percy also wears glasses.

The name Arthur Weasley is reminiscent of the birth name of Arthur Wesley, better known in later life as Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, though at this point in the story it is difficult to know if he will be a similarly heroic figure.

Arthur's opinions of the so-called upper crust didn't change much once he went to school, as several girls from reasonably wealthy if socially climbing families tried to make his acquaintance -- probably because they had heard rumours of the Weasley fortune, and most certainly not because Arthur was especially dashing.

As is Arthur, who seems to be completely unaware of the kind of resentment, defiance and both covertly and overtly pitched battles that rage around his ears in his family home.
Arthur, Bill and Charlie have all managed to stay carefully neutral throughout this protracted battle, and so would Ginny have done if she had been given the luxury of a choice in the matter.
I contend that for all that his political background is probably highly Muggle-tolerant, Arthur Weasley’s own enthusiasm for Muggles and their works shows all of the fervor of a new convert.

But Harry’s experience of Molly Weasley does not really stack up all that closely to the experience of her that is shared by her own brood, and even Harry was going off her style of treatment of children a bit by Year 5.
That public demand that Arthur back her up in a quarrel with a man who was at least technically her host was as ugly as anything she has ever said to any of her kids, and an amazing display of ill-breeding.
Arthur and Molly also serve as rather ominous cautionary examples of how very poorly Dumbledore’s supporters seem to be prepared for another round with Voldemort and the kind of tactics he is likely to employ.
