Aruze possesses licenses to both manufacture and distribute casino machines in the American states of Nevada, Mississippi and New Jersey.
On October 2002, Aruze was sued for copyright infringement over SNK's intellectual properties which was unauthorized by Playmore in which they still owned, for 6.2 billion yen in damages.
In January 2004, a preliminary decision was handed down by the Osaka District Court favoring SNK Playmore and was awarded 5.64 billion yen.

This could cause licensing difficulties for Aruze in Nevada because a key function of state casino licensing authorities is ensuring gambling taxes are paid.
Wynn told Reuters news service the Aruze issue in Japan is a civil matter and should not be a major factor when Aruze applies for a casino license as would be required because of its agreement to invest $260 million in Wynn's project.

TOKYO -- Aruze Corp., Japan's biggest maker of pachinko and slot machines, today detailed plans to invest $75 million in Wynn Resorts Ltd., a Las Vegas-based casino developer that last month raised $450 million in a public offering.
Aruze will buy 5.6 million shares in Wynn Resorts to raise its stake in the U.S. company to 32.9 percent from 25.4 percent, it said in a statement.
The company will pay $72.5 million for the shares and invest $2.5 million to purchase a bond issued by Wynn Resorts, which is building the Le Reve resort on the Las Vegas Strip and a second casino in the Chinese island city of Macau.
