Arya (titled Arya Svit-kona; also known as Arya Dröttningu) was a female elf, the daughter of Queen Islanzadí Dröttning and her husband Evandar, and therefore a princess.
Arya was banned from Islanzadi's presence following a disagreement, and thereafter devoted herself fully to the cause of the Varden.

Eragon sees visions of Arya in his sleep and is eventually imprisoned with her in Gil'ead.
The scene showed Arya to be extremely rude and arrogant, and her arrogance continues to reveal itself (unintentionally on Paolini's part) to greater and greater degrees as the book continues.
Arya's role in the books is similar to Arwen's in J.

ARYA SAMAJ, a Hindu religious association with reforming tendencies, which was founded by a Guzerati Brahman named Dayanand Saraswati.
The Arya Samaj is not an eclectic system like the Brahma Samaj, which strives to find the common basis underlying all the great religions, and its narrower scope and corresponding intensity of conviction have won it a greater strength.
It seemed to meet the feeling of many educated natives whose faith in current Hinduism was undermined, but who were predisposed against any foreign religious influence.

I agree that the Arya subplot was annoying in Eldest.
Arya is interesting cause she's the mentor and love interest, but she could be in her 20's and have the same role, judging by the skills Paoloni instills in his other 20 something characters.
I think that Arya was in love with/bonded to one of the elves that helped guard her while she carried Saphira's egg.

I would not say arya because though she is strong if you think about it she isn't fit for the position nor would it be orik because dwarfs are not part of the compact between the elves, humans, and dragons.

Eldest (Inheritance, Book 2)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
Surpassing its popular prequel Eragon, this second volume in the Inheritance trilogy shows growing maturity and skill on the part of its very young author, who was only seventeen when the first volume was published in 2003.
Christopher Paolini's Eldest may not add up to be quite as fulfilling as the first of the Inheritance trilogy, but the legacy of the dragon rider still lived on.
Eldest, the second book in the Inheritance trilogy, is a less exciting and thrilling as the first, but still remains worthy of your time.

Arya is also of royal blood and Angela predicted that Eragon would love someone of noble birth.
Proponents of the Arya theory also argue that she has green eyes, although the significance of this is debatable.
Arya may discover that they are meant to be together, a possible reason being that she has been the egg courier for so long, hence dragon magic being unpredictable as it is, led to the dragon(Saphira) developing a link with her.

In her book, "Women, Gender Equality and the State", Sadhna Arya, who teaches political science in Delhi University, and is a core member of Saheli, brings out the centrality of gender and patriarchy in understanding the political processes and state in India.
It is these intricacies which Sadhna Arya sets out to unravel through the exploration of the manner in which the patriarchal character of the Indian state has unfolded over the past five decades.
The question, however, as in the case of female franchise and reserved seats for women both before and after independence, lingered in the shadows of matters of "national" concern and attempts to resolve the legal status of Indian women proved desultory.

The custom did not merely control the limited inheritance rights of the widow, an aspect which we have investigated extensively elsewhere, [1] it also controlled her sexuality, fertility and labour.
It not only assured her the inheritance, as understood by British administrators, and consequent relative economic autonomy but also sexual autonomy, by allowing her to retain her chosen partner instead of the imposed one, who was in all possibility already married.
For Dayanand, the founder of Arya Samaj, himself, motherhood was the sole rationale of a woman's existence[93] and if the fulfillment of this role was cut short, she had to be assisted towards fulfilling her destined goal.
