  Asa Biggs, 1811-1878
Biggs, Asa (4 Feb. 1811-6 Mar 1878), jurist and senator, was born in Williamston, Martin County, the son of Joseph Biggs, a merchant and Primitive Baptist preacher, and his third wife, Chloe Daniel.
As a prominent lawyer in the eastern part of the state, Biggs was elected to represent the trustees of The University of North Carolina from 1839 to 1851 in cases involving the university's share in estates of citizens dying intestate.
Biggs was married on 26 June 1832 to Martha Elizabeth Andrews, who bore him ten children, six of whom survived him.

Asa Biggs was born in Williamston, N.C., on 4 February 1811, and died in Norfolk, Va., on 6 March 1878.
Biggs served in the North Carolina Constitutional Convention of 1835; the North Carolina House of Commons in 1840 and 1842; the state Senate in 1844 and 1854; the United States House of Representatives, 1845-1847; and the United States Senate, 1855-1858.
Asa Biggs was the son of Joseph Biggs (1766-1844) and Chloe Daniel (1776-1845).

Asa Biggs was the second child of Joseph Biggs, a Williamston merchant and minister in the Skewarkee Primitive Baptist Church.
While Biggs had served at age 24 as one of the youngest delegates to the 1835 state constitutional convention, his career as an elected official began in 1840 when he was elected to the NC House of Commons.
In 1861, with the outbreak of the Civil War, Biggs' strong secessionist sentiments led him to resign the judgeship and to serve as a Confederate district judge.

Biggs (1811-1878) was a lawyer in Williamston, NC, who, at the time described had just begun his practice, at the age of 21, he was a Jacksonian, active in politics.

The oldest fact about the Biggs family is that Richard Biggs, was born 1590 Hampshire, Southampton England, but his wife's name is still elusive to the Biggs Researchers.
My Father Paul, married a Miss Johnnie Jean Mitchell, daughter of Bert Littleton Mitchell and his wife Bonelyn Loving, on December 9, 1950 in Dallas County Texas and 3 children were produced from this marriage; my brother, John Paul "Pokey" Boone, myself, Holli Jean Boone, and my sister, Kristi Lynelle Boone.
This is my Biggs lineage as I know it.
