Ascendancy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is also an album called Ascendancy by metal band Trivium, and a 1982 movie Ascendancy.
Ascendancy featured an early 3D galactic map which allowed starships to travel in a more realistic galaxy than in games such as Master of Orion 1 and 2 (a very similar 3D map was adopted for Master of Orion 3).
Ascendancy, by its very nature, was not capable of multiplayer games and so the focus was on single player against AI opponents.

Ascendancy (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ascendancy (2005) is an album by the metalcore band Trivium.
A demo of the song "The Deceived" was included on the re-release of Trivium's debut album Ember to Inferno nearly a year before Ascendancy was released.
The album spawned four singles in "Like Light to the Flies," "Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr," "A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation" and "Dying in Your Arms." Music videos for each of the songs were shot; a promotional video was filmed for the song "Rain."

Ascendancy is an incredible record from the beginning acoustic notes of 'The End of Everything' to the fade out of the awesome politically-charged final track 'Declaration'.
The title track 'Ascendancy' is simply a masterpiece in modern metal composed entirely by teenage prodigy Heafy.
Upon every listen it is still difficult to comprehend the age of the band, with whom I draw comparisons to Alexi Laiho, Janne Warman and co. from Finnish metal gods Children of Bodom.

iProng : iPod, iTunes, and Music : News, Commentary, and Reviews : Switch to iProng - Trivium: Ascendancy
Ascendancy, like many great albums before it, exudes the fact that each track was produced through great determination and with much importance placed on it, not through desperation to make an EP worthy of an LP.
The title track “Ascendancy” shows a different course from many title tracks in that it was clearly not meant to be the focal point of the album, but fits right in with the other tracks.
The final stanza of the album, entitled “Declaration”, doesn’t recede into the shadows as you would think a closing song would, but instead lashes out like a caged animal with some of the most grinding composition to be featured in the album.

But Ascendancy's fire is more ferocious and its transitions more confident, which means the band is even more dedicated to its clever throwback sound.
That album's mix of classic thrash (early Metallica) with 21st century metalcore rage and progressive metal flourish still roils here.
Ascendancy aligns real-deal thrash with powerful modern influences.

Ascendancy definitely is a great CD, but their future albums will need much more if they wish to be as powerful as Metallica.
Ascendancy - one of the best songs on the album, great riff, anthemic chorus, and the best part of the album to have the rubbish singing in it 10/10.
The album is a very distinct sound that most bands of today cannot accomplish as this is a very brave step in the US music scene as they use thrash riffs with melodic vocals aswell as hardcore vocals.

Remember, this is only their second album and I expect them to reach gigantic heights.

Sound recording and reproduction - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Beatles, under producer George Martin, were among the first to experiment with multitrack techniques and effects on the album Sgt.
Multitrack recording makes it possible to capture sound from several microphones, or from different 'takes' to tape or disc with maximum headroom and quality, allowing maximum flexibility in the mixing and mastering stages for editing, level balancing, compressing and limiting, and the addition of effects such as reverberation, equalisation, flanging and many more.

Trivium is a great band, I mean there nothing special but still there awesome I mean the Ascendancy album is really awesome has alot of stuff an album should.
However, Ascendancy is a strong album, and personally it's going to be on my top 10 album list for this year.
Ascendancy IMO is considerably heavier than From Ember to Inferno, which, if anything, I would tag with the more generic metalcore label.

 Trivium Feature Interview At Blistering.com
The time spent on the twelve songs that make up ‘Ascendancy’ was obviously time well spent, and Roadrunner Records were of the same opinion too when the label offered the young act a deal after only hearing the demo recordings of the said tracks.
The reaction to ‘Ascendancy’ has also had an immediate effect on Trivium in the live forum too as crowds have seemingly grown progressively every night as the tour rolls on.
Since the release of ‘Ascendancy’ in March, Trivium have been keeping up a hectic touring schedule on the road with Danzig, followed by the month long run of Roadrunner Records’ Roadrage 2005 tour (With 3 Inches Of Blood, Still Remains and The Agony Scene).

 Blistering.com Review: Trivium - Ascendancy
Trivium’s ‘Ascendancy’ is far from a thrash classic, but given a couple of albums, they might just come up with something close to potential expectations.
The album showed the band had potential, but still had some way to go before really generating any real worthy attention.
When Floridian thrash metal act Trivium released their debut album Ember To Inferno in 2003 (Through Lifeforce Records), I was only mildly interested.

Trivium - Ascendancy : album review
Close your eyes in some of the slightly cleaner vocalised bridges and you can believe it's pre-Black album Metallica in full flow, while the technical wizardry of the guitar solo is something to behold, particularly when it sticks in a dissonant chord before returning to the song's opening motif.
However, with the rabid enthusiasm and undoubted quality of Ascendancy, Trivium have thrown their cap into the (New Wave Of American) heavy metal ring in a way that is impossible to ignore.
Well yes, for besides the fact that Heafy and co are precociously talented, their age - or lack thereof - is ironic given that Ascendancy is steeped in the influences of classic, mid-'80s thrash and speed metal.

 metaluk.com reviews / Trivium – Ascendancy
‘Ascendancy’ is the second release from these Florida based metallers Trivium, which has proven to be a refreshingly good album that forms a rather consistent group of songs.
The cool thing about this album is that it isn’t melodic death, or thrash, or death metal, or anything else as distinctive as a whole, but rather an amalgamation of all of these.
The best tracks on the album are the blazing ‘Rain’, ‘Drowned and Torn Asunder’; the epic ‘A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation’; the thrash heavy ‘The Deceived’ and ‘Suffocating Sight’; and the two current singles, ‘Pull Harder on the Strings of your Martyr’ and ‘Like Light to the Flies’.

Ascendancy, the group's second album and their first on Roadrunner Records, is filled with carefully crafted songs that surge with energy, passion and originality.
But the album opening track was just a tease, because as soon as the second song, "Rain," begins, the listener knows what the rest of the album is going to be like.
While the first album, lyrically, addressed romantic disillusionment and child abuse, this time the songs confront spousal abuse, suicide, depression, tyranny and freedom of speech.

5) Ascendancy- A good solid track but it is overshadowed by the rest of the album.
The solo is one of the best on the album, consisting of shredding and scaling done so fast and masterfully it definitely is the highlight of the song.
Being undeniably one of the best songs in the album, it efficiently reels the listener into the world created from Triviums fantastic musicianship (highly technical riffs, blasting drums, heavy singing, skilled 5-string bass playing etc.) but still leaves him begging for more, a lot more.
