We are concerned with the Jesus of the gospels and of the message of the post-ascension early Church.
Bousset argued that the Jesus of the primitive Palestinian church was the eschatological Son of Man, largely derived from Daniel 7:13—14.
One encounters overblown claims about alleged likenesses between baptism and the Lord's Supper and similar "sacraments" in certain mystery cults...The mere fact that Christianity has a sacred meal and a washing of the body is supposed to prove that it borrowed these ceremonies from similar meals and washings in the pagan cults.

 ascension
The Feast of the Ascension is always on a Thursday, 40 days after Resurrection, and is one of the ecumenical feasts ranking with the feasts of the Passion, of Easter, of Pentecost, and of Christmas, among the most solemn in the calendar.
For a Christian, the Ascension is the climax of his life in Christ: Jesus, in his Ascension, is the first fruits, a pledge to our glorification (1Cor.15:23)… and still more: When Jesus went up to Heaven, he didn't go to a far place.
The Ascension is the capstone of the life of Jesus, made up of three events, which include de final departure of Jesus from earth, his going up into heaven, and the taking of his place at the right hand of the Father.

 The Blessed Virgin Mary
According to the Book of Acts (1:14), after Christ's Ascension into Heaven the apostles "went up into an upper room", and: "all these were persevering with one mind in prayer with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren".
We may infer from all this that Mary is mentioned in the prophecy of Isaias as mother of Jesus Christ; in the light of St. Matthew's reference to the prophecy, we may add that the prophecy predicted also Mary's virginity untarnished by the conception of the Emmanuel [7].
At least part of the verses refer to the mother whose son is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; according to Psalm 2:9, this is the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Whose mother is Mary.

Ascension and Power Clearly the greatest theological emphasis of the New Testament regarding the ascension is that Christ now regains the glory he had with the Father before the world began, is now able to send his powerful Spirit into the world, and reigns from heaven over every authority and power in heaven and earth.
The ascension is, however, viewed in some respects as the completion of that atoning work: it was necessary for Christ to "enter heaven… to appear … once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself" (9:24-26).
Ascension and Atonement Particularly for the author of Hebrews, the ascension bridges the gap between the earthly work of Jesus Christ on the cross and his heavenly ministry as high priest, offering his sacrifice on the altar before the throne of God.

 Origins Of Christianity
If the Christian tradition is spiritually effective for them they should remain steadfast in it, since no matter what they believe in terms of dogma, their faith in and love for Jesus is real, as the love of Jesus for them is also real.
The spiritual lives of millions are sustained by the presence of Christian churches in the world, and more importantly they are sustained by the living presence of Jesus--within the hearts of the faithful.
Many ancient Christian sects, as we shall also see, believed that Jesus' crucifixion (as a public execution) was instigated by evil powers, including Satan, and through their physical "slaying" of Jesus' body, their judgement (unbeknownst to them) was pronounced.

Accordingly, dearly-beloved, throughout this time which elapsed between the Lord's Resurrection and Ascension, God's Providence had this in view, to teach and impress upon both the eyes and hearts of His own people that the Lord Jesus Christ might be acknowledged to have as truly risen, as He was truly born, suffered, and died.
Those days, therefore, dearly-beloved, which intervened between the Lord's Resurrection and Ascension did not pass by in uneventful leisure, but great mysteries were ratified in them, deep truths revealed.
