Boughton is a hamlet in Asgarby parish, half a mile northeast of Asgarby village.
In 1880, a detached part of Asgarby parish (in the Fens) was annexed to Carrington.

They raised their family at Asgarby which was a move of about 5.6 miles for John and 3.2 miles for Ann, with Sleaford being the closest larger town, approx.
In 1856, Asgarby is a small village which encompasses 91 souls and 838 acres of land, farmed by Bruce Tomlinson (Asgarby) and Thomas Sneath (Boughton), a small hamlet within Asgarby.

I then followed this road northwards to the A17(T) and the beautiful village church at Asgarby, which has a tall and slender stone tower that was a prominent landmark for miles around.
A footpath across fields took me the two kilometres to the church at Kirkby la Thorpe, and whilst this is not as spectacular as its neighbour at Asgarby it is still a lovely little church.
Here a footpath is marked on the map heading northwards to Asgarby but I could find no trace of the path on the ground, so I turned left to walk along the A17(T) for a short distance before turning to the right up a road that leads northwards to Asgarby Church.
