  Badfinger Ass CD Remastered
ASS is a 1973 release by British power-poppers Badfinger, released as the group was leaving Apple Records and including the farewell "Apple of My Eye."
Ass was the last Badfinger album recorded for Apple, originally released in 1973.
While their final album with Pete Ham, "Wish You Were Here" is arguably Badfinger's finest work, "Ass" remains a very strong album that deserved a better commercial fate.

Free Your Mind...And Your Ass Will Follow - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The album and eponymous song influenced the band En Vogue, leading to the title of their hit song "Free Your Mind".
This song's lyrics are relatively simple, particularly compared with the in-depth social and political statements of later albums (and even other songs off this album), concerning partying on a Friday night, for which the singer knows he has an insatiable appetite.
Materialism and consumerism (recurring themes on this album) are characterized as leading to a complete lack of Funk (meaning, in context, soul, heart and joy, see P Funk mythology).

By and large, the shift in direction was ill-advised, since they couldn't quite write riff-heavy songs or perform them with conviction.
Ass, however, is not quite entirely a wash-out.
Even with such highlights, though, Ass is a considerable disappointment after the flawless power-pop of No Dice and Straight Up.

Lohio by Ass Ponys (lyrics & reviews)
(baby) i love you (baby) may sound like the name of a shmaltzy love song, but if this is an ass ponys album then the singer is a cancer patient and the object of his affection is that lovely nurse who injects his morphine.
This album is twelve times as big hearted as anything by the pixies or pavement.
Ass Ponys were local heroes in their native Cincinnati and then one-hit wonders with the 1995 alt-rock radio smash "Little Bastard." But with Lohio and its predecessor, Some Stupid with a Flare Gun, the group solidified its standing as a first-rate purveyor of smart roots rock played with heart and a goofy grin.

HYBRIDMAGAZINE.COM | REVIEWS | Mark Eitzel - Candy Ass album review
That could be because it was cold and colorless outside while I listened, but nonetheless, without a drink in my hand and someone else to talk to I can't really think where I would want to be to hear this playing.
Now, I have to admit that nestled in the computer generated wasteland like the last, straggler jelly beans in the Easter basket are a few songs I'm more interested in; songs in which Eitzel sings and plays guitar, his voice sometimes reminding me oddly of a male Edie Brickell.
I feel a tentative connection to Eitzel's music when he plays his guitar and sings; a connection that is lost every time the next alienating, electronic piece comes on.

 Badfinger - Ass
The album title is the band's reference to themselves as unwitting followers of some enticing but unrealizable dream.
But the most exciting moments on the album come last, on "Timeless," which builds into a passionately melancholy instrumental section that might easily be mistaken for an inspired Clapton-Harrison collaboration.
This is a surprisingly vibrant album from a group that has never managed to string its scattered hits into a distinguishable identity, and which seemed to be headed for oblivion or dissolution, whichever came first.

There's still a song to mix, but for all intents and purposes it's done and for all intents and purposes we love it dearly.
Unfortunately, there was another news item sometime after that (don't remember when exactly) that said it was being pushed back to early next year....so, sadly, we all must wait.
So it's a way to make sure everything we recorded sees the light of day, while putting a happy face on the fact that our full-length album may have to wait a few extra months to come out.

Metallica Ready "Nutty-Ass" Album - Xfm
Drummer Lars Ulrich has claimed that the new Metallica album will contain "nutty-ass" material with "more dynamic within the songs".
Speaking at a news conference for the Bonnaroo Festival, Lars Ulrich said that the new album - the somewhat belated follow-up to 2003's 'St Anger' - is a "couple of nips and tucks" away from completion and is on target for its mooted September release.
He said: "We sort of promised ourselves that unlike all the records we made in the '90s, [which] were just completely stressed-out and just nutty, that we were gonna try and have a little more sane environment -- and we've actually, surprising mostly to ourselves, been able to keep to that."

Face Down, Ass Up - Andrew Dice Clay
The latter half of the '90s saw a spate of movies and albums that seemed to make the world safe once again for crude, juvenile humor.
Many of Clay's fans have long maintained that his material is just dumb fun -- not intended to be taken or thought about seriously -- and shrug off any criticism as uptight political correctness.
The bottom line is that it's the same old story -- Clay's old fans will be happy to have him back, and Face Down, Ass Up may even win him a few new fans who missed him the first time around.

While Alabama Ass Whuppin' is not going to win a place in any New South Chamber of Commerce, it definitely deserves a spot in any CD collection of southern guitar rock and fiery alternative country.

Recorded between 1995 and 1996, Ass Cobra was Turbonegro's breakthrough to the American underground.

Though Turbonegro did quite a bit of recording prior to this album, this was the one that set the pace, and the one that enabled them to record their masterpiece, Apocalypse Dudes.
