The National Assembly of the Republic of China (Chinese: 中華民國國民大會; Pinyin: Zhōnghuámínguó Gúomín Dàhùi) was the constitutional convention (and formerly an electoral college) of the Republic of China (on Taiwan and other islands since 1949).
Shortly afterwards in 1949, the Mainland fell to the Communists in the Chinese Civil War, and the National Assembly (along with the entire ROC government) was transplanted to Taipei.
From 2000 to 2005, the 300 assembly members were selected ad hoc on the basis of proportional representation by a special election within six months of proposal by the Legislative Yuan to amend the Constitution, impeach the president or vice president, or change national borders.

STRASBOURG, 22.09.97 - The Parliamentary Assembly of the COUNCIL OF EUROPE today made a positive overall assessment of the Czech Republic's compliance with the commitments it entered into when joining the organisation in 1993, but noted that efforts still needed to be made in the civil service, on citizenship and the Rom minority.
The text of the recommendation adopted by the Assembly notes that Czech citizenship legislation has been greatly improved, but since some problems persist regarding the Rom minority, proposes that it be applied more flexibly.
The Assembly decided to end the procedure begun in 1995, but to continue dialogue with the Czech authorities on certain points and to re-open the monitoring procedure "if further clarification or enhanced cooperation should seem desirable".

The pogrom against the Serb population of Kosovo and Metohija carried out between 17 and 19 March of this year is a consequence of the unreadiness of UNMIK and KFOR to fulfil the obligations arising from UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
The Government of the Republic of Serbia shall prepare a proposal for a political solution of the present situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
