On May 26, the Association of University Teachers (AUT) in Britain reversed its previous decision -- taken on April 22 -- to boycott Israeli universities.
Within days of the Association of University Teachers' decision last month to cut ties with two Israeli universities - one of them because of its links to the Ariel campus - Israel's cabinet voted to upgrade the college to the first university in the settlements.
In Britain, the Association of University Teachers endorsed the boycott call and sustained this position with honour for 20 years.

The Association of University Teachers (AUT) is the trade union and professional association that represents academic (teaching and research) and academic-related (librarians, IT managers and senior administrators) at pre-1992 universities in the United Kingdom.
AUT also has branches in a number of post-1992 universities (the ex-polytechnics and other institutes that have become universities since 1992) and in university colleges, although the main union representing academic staff in these institutes is the National Association of Teachers in Further and Higher Education (NATFHE).
The AUT Council voted to boycott Bar-Ilan because it runs courses at colleges in the occupied West Bank (referring to Ariel College) and "is thus directly involved with the occupation of Palestinian territories contrary to United Nations resolutions".

The JAC in a press release said that the teachers would boycott classes on Wednesday and a procession would be taken out from the TCC, which would be addressed by the leaders of the teachers.
It said under the ordinance the teachers would be made subservient to a few individuals, who would make a mess of the education in the country.
