 JBC, School Admission
The Assumption Parish School Board shall admit students to the schools of the school district based upon an application submitted by the parent, guardian or student to the school, under such rules and regulations as the Board may prescribe.
In order for a child to attend public school in the Parish of Assumption, the parents or legal guardian of the child shall physically reside within the Parish of Assumption, with limited exception as approved by the Board.  The child shall physically reside with a parent or legal guardian in the Parish of Assumption.
At any time that the administration of the Assumption Parish School Board deems fit, the School Board may request in writing that an affidavit be made attesting to the residence of the child in the school district.

St. James Parish, located midway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge on the mighty Mississippi River and divided in two by the Father of Waters, is one of the original nineteen parishes created on March 31, 1807, by an act of the Orleans Territorial Legislature.
