Assumption of Mary - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
According to Roman Catholic theology and the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church, the body and soul of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Mary, the mother of Jesus) was taken into Heaven after the end of her earthly life.
The Feast of the Assumption is celebrated on August 15, the same calendar day as the Eastern Orthodox Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos.
The Dormition should not be confused with the Assumption: Eastern Orthodox believe that Mary died, and there is a non-dogmatic tradition that her dead body was later assumed into heaven as a foretaste of the general resurrection.

The Blessed Virgin Mother and her role in salvation history is very much sculpted out in Holy Scripture from the beginning.
One of the reasons I find the Assumption compeling is the inclusion of the Assumption as early as the 5th century in the church liturgical calender at that an early a date it would have to be something generally accepted as to be true.
If we remove the general logical arguments for Mary Assumption (eg where is her body?) and concentrate on it as a matter of faith, I think it should be safe to say that "not sure" is a reasonable answer.
