		Assyut is situated on the Nile, in the middle of Egypt.
		Assyut is a junction for the waterways from the Nile, there is a dam of the Nile nearby, and the Ibrahimiyya Canal starts here.
		Assyut is both a centre of Copts, and of militant Islamism.
