		Carpe Tenebrum is Astennu from Dimmu Borgir's "side project" with Nagash from Dimmu Borgir/Covenant handling the vocal duties and frankly, I just haven't a clue why Astennu would spend the time to write or record something so uninteresting.
		Regardless of whether or not you can stomach Covenant, at least Nagash's side project was a change of pace entirely.
		Astennu would be best advised to stick to his role in Dimmu Borgir or at the very least try something not so overdone in the fl metal scene.

		While it's nice to see Nagash and Astennu can still create some "fl metal" in their spare time, I'm pressed to say it ends up sounding like a more simplistic, aggressive version of Dimmu Borgir (I've even heard a rumor that this material is actually Astennu's old band Lord Kaos).
		Guitar work is commendable, Astennu adds some clean, melodic leads that express talent without the overt wankery, though it's essentially polishing a turd.
		Note that this isn't the brand new Carpe Tenebrum about to be released (entitled The Mirror), this came out in '99 and I'm just now catching up with my promos because I'm a moron.
