		Astrid Lulling was born in Luxembourg in 1929.
		In 1949, Astrid Lulling began working for the unions and was given the opportunity of participating in all meetings for the miners and mineral unions in preparation for the CECA treaty prior to the Schuman declaration.
		In 1965, Astrid Lulling became a member of the European Parliament and held a position on the agricultural committee of the parliament throughout her tenure as an MEP.

		Ms Astrid Lulling, in her concluding speech, observed that Meridiana had pioneered the production of high quality wines in Malta because it had embraced internationally recognised production and labelling standards from the project's conception.

		Astrid Lulling commented that Christa Randzio-Plath had been an excellent chair of EMAC, and wished, even though Mrs Randzio-Plath was not of the same party, that she was coming back to the next EP.
		She had no problem accepting that Germany was Europe’s leader in the manufacture of cars, and did not see why there should not be similar acceptance that the City was Europe’s premier financial centre, and should be promoted as such.
		Lulling said Theresa Villiers was quite right, and as a ‘Luxembourgeoise' she could not agree more, though of course she would like to draw attention to the existence of other specialist players.
