		Born as a robot boy with a human soul, Astroboy, or Tobio as he is sometimes known, was activated in the typical mad scientist's lab by some nutbag with a gigantic nose and evidently very little mad scientist training.
		Astroboy is a particularly narrative driven title and it does an excellent job of leading you around the players and storylines in the saga in much the same way as any good RPG.
		Astroboy's seven powers are particularly useful in these sections and apart from the usual bashi-bashi stuff there are a number of situation specific attacks available to add a little interest.

		I was working on my own Astroboy Birthday FPP, using this L.A. Times article, this Japanese news story (featured on BoingBoing), and this about last year's release of 1950's Astroboy comics in English, and was just waiting until after Midnight, Los Angeles time, so MY date stamp would reflect the 7th.
		astroboy aired on canadian tv during the 60's and 70's (weekend mornings mostly) so i assume it aired in the states as well.
		And Astroboy aired Monday through Friday afternoons in L.A., right after Engineer Bill (the local kids host who did the "Red Light, Green Light" milk drinking game), until Channel 9 could no longer support back and white cartoons, after which it briefly aired on UHF Channel 52, which was desperate for content.

		It is Osamu Tezuka most famous character: Astroboy, in a not so distant future, robot are capable to think as humans and even to have emotions...Astroboy lives with his sister and parents (who are robots too), goes to school (with humans)...
		But in a world where robots are considered inferiors being (just like fl peoples back in the 19th century), Astro is using his super powers to fight for justice and help others...
		This is truly one of the best japanese show ever, in many countries around the world(including USA), however like many anime, ASTROBOY was censored in the US version, and the french dub in my country is based on the US version, not directly from the japanese version, so many things were cut and lost.
