In the 1990s, Asylum Township [Pennsylvania] resident Susan Miller was doing genealogical research on her family when she stumbled on something unusual.
She discovered newspaper clippings that showed that that two of her ancestors - Maggie Johnson and Johnson’s 10-year-old niece Annie - were murdered on Sept. 18, 1904 in Macedonia in Asylum Township.

Each township in that county has its name on its location on the map.
